Episode 8.18

If only the writing of this show would be so exceptional as Alex O’Loughlin’s acting or directing…

I am completely in awe what AOL has done as an director and at the same time as an actor. That must have been really challenging.

The vibe of this episode was totally different than any other episode. He played with the light, the camera angle, the pace. When the cops got out of the car they were running towards the camera and the camera at the same time ‘ran’ towards the cops. That created more tension and action than any slow-motion could do it. You felt like being right there. Same goes with the blue room scenes. For example when Lou moved around Jessie’s back to the right the camera went to the left. That was perfect. Tension pure.

The whole chase scenes were terrific. Did we ever see Steve actually turning the wheel for the spins and turns in such a way? That felt so realistic and – again – put the viewers right into the scene. And the shower curtain scene was great. The look through that hole, so good. Loved all that!

The actress that played Brooke was amazing. She sold the pain, the self-doubt, the anger, the disgust and the hope. She owned the scenes she was in. The filming of the ashes gone with the wind was great. Kudos to Alex again.

I thought that most of the actors were even more in the moment, more in their scenes than normally. Especially with Chi, Ian and Christine I got the feeling they wanted to be extra special just because of Alex. He seemed to get them, he seems to be an actor director or better an actor’s director.

So the director O’Loughlin did it different, he changed the atmosphere, but he didn’t exaggerate. He didn’t get lost in it, he didn’t do too much. It felt like art, art-y but without the -ficial.

Very well done.

Hope he gets more chances to direct. That was outstanding and saved the show.

Episode 8.17

I want to be Team Steve when disaster strikes. And I hope Grace and Charlie are Team Steve too.

As always, Steve’s the fighter. He never gives up. There’s always hope. Repopulate earth, Steve. If earth would be in need of people, it would be your kind of people. And I am pretty sure there will be volunteers… 

Absolutely loved the scene with Steve and Doug at the near end. Incredibly well acted with tons of different emotions displaying on Steve’s face. leiCa

Episode 8.16

It went a bit overboard, but there have been so many different Alexpressions, and you know me. I love them and obviously my attempt was to use them all. Well, I failed… but still…

Episode 8.15

Blech.

The BMW? That’s what I call an amazing car.

The AOL? That’s what I call an amazing actor.

The rest? Blech. I hope Adam rots in this container till the ant (!) of time for not keeping Steve informed. Idiot. And I have to be protected from seeing a tiny penis, but enduring these Williams’ family members and their inflated ego is ok? Blech.

Episode 8.14

Well, as you might have guessed from my last post, I am really miffed at Dannoying. So I think a shock collar should come in handy, but because Steve’s obviously a Saint and because the frequent use of this shock collar would go beyond any normal costs for batteries it is pretty clear that Steve will decide against this option. Yet I am happy that – at least sometimes – Steve does no longer just tolerate Dannoying’s behavior.

Here are my suggestions for some suitable words from Steve to Dannoying.

I promise the fun will be back next episode, but for now Dannoying stole the fun. Until then, enjoy the Steve-faces. Alexpressions. We had tons of them. And I enjoyed the heck out of them. leiCa

Episode 8.13

Short and quick pic(k) of this episode.

Important topic show picked out as a central theme here. Trust me, I know, but I found it a bit boring. I think the writers got lost and, although I love Grover, I think we’ve got enough of Lou’s background stories.

Episode 8.12

I liked this episode. Really, I did. Large and in charge Steve, standing up for his folks Steve and emotional Steve. Oh boy.

I know it is totally stupid for Adam to lead anything law-related, and I don’t want to become this thing a big topic and take away from the show but at least Adam is a little bit less boooooring.

Alex rocked the scene at the morgue, every scene with the FBI guys and esp. the scene at the end. Sniffle. You’ll see. Let the fun begin. leiCa

Episodes 8.10 + 8.11

I didn’t have much time ‘between the years’ and I couldn’t really force myself to watch 8.11 again completely so here we go with a double feature of Let’s pic(k) Steve. I felt sorry for the Vets in the last episode, they deserved better. Actually their acting was pretty impressive, I liked it. The case wasn’t that bad either and I liked Santa McG. I didn’t like the superannoying rest. And now I will shut my mouth. My Christmas tree is still sparkling. Peace. leiCa

Bought a north sea shrimps salad. And now toothbrush heads, printer’s ink, iPhones and razor blades are bloody cheap.
