Episode 10.05
Horror Movie Quote Edition
Now this was an episode I enjoyed – if you can say that for a Halloween episode. But I have to say I liked the storyline with Steve, Junior, Duke and Noelani way more. The other one was over the top, predictable and with a really weird unsatisfying ending.
But how awesome is it to see Duke more involved? And how incredibly awesome are Steve and Noelani together? And just thinking I could have more of the wonderful McJunior if someone else finally decides to go back to Jersey? These four actors bring it! In every scene. So I am a little bit miffed we clearly got robbed of Steve and Junior scenes at the end. There’s something on the editing floor, I am sure.
I am not convinced of the Quinn/Tani pairing. It was their second time, and their second failure. Tsk tsk.
Another thing: The boy who played Tunde was great! This kid can act!
I was disappointed that there was no Steve/Max hug, but we got these awesome Steve/Noelani moments instead, so all is good in my world.
Now let’s go. Read the captions with a deep and raspy voice. It’s scary times! Muahaha! ~leiCa

«We can be heroes
Just for one day»
So who was the one day hero? I think it was Tunde.
Now can we fast forward Friday’s episode and go directly to “Ka ‘i’o”? ~leiCa
Normally I am not shy when it comes to respectfully expressing an opinion to which others may not agree. I cannot do that regarding this particular episode so I shall make no comment.
Thanks Leica for the pictures. Lovely.

Steve/Alex looked very vulnerable in this episode.
You managed to capture that many of these pictures.
Spilt stories always leave one feeling that there was something missing about the whole plot in both. Not very satisfying viewing.
More Steve and Junior would be great! You can see that the actors as people also made a great connection. It always provide for better better stories and viewer satisfaction. It can be seen with Alex and Chi as well.

You are so right with Steve looking vulnerable in this episode. I think it is because he and Noelani shared a special moment last season and he opened up about Joe’s death. We didn’t see him talking about his feelings about this with someone else.
And of course he can relate to Duke and this ‘cold case’.
It is a shame that because of these two storylines – which is never a good idea if you ask me – tptb cut some Steve/Junior scenes at the end.
And a big fat YES to the connection between Alex and Beulah and Alex and Chi. We know that Chi and Alex are friends and know each other for a loooong time, and Beulah said how supportive Alex was when he and his family moved to Hawaii! I think Alex appreciates people who embrace Hawaii and its culture like he does. Beulah honored him with his Haka!

MamaYorkie, please make your comments as this is the review for last week’s episode. I thought it was ok… just not very exciting. I loved seeing Max again but I did not like the storyline of the nun giving her son away and then learning he had been locked in a basement for forever. None of that really made sense. Keep him in the house if you want, but in a vault? Too crazy.
Loved Steve and Junior. And Eddie. He is always a treat. Steve and Noelani were great, too.

Sorry, no other review coming than this one. My review got lost on wordpress… long story 😉 and I don’t have the time to do it again.
But it wasn’t a full review anyway. I wasn’t very impress with the episode. I liked Steve, well, when don’t I? And Junior with Steve, but mostly Steve and Duke and Noelani. More of that please.
The other story was just ugh. Lots of blabla. And don’t even get me started on the nuns and the horrible things they did to that poor boy. I won’t even start about that.
So, enjoy LeiCa’s pictures and yes, please discuss the episode here.

Indeed. If I were a nun, and do note I never ever would be a nun, but IF I were, I’d sue this episode. Cos it was every bad trope about nuns ruining children, and of course being women, they also can’t keep their promise of chastity cos Eve and misogyny and hang her cos she’s a witch. Soooooo surprised to see misogyny on this show.🙄
Also how crass to paint the monster like that. I’m sure he coulda been medically and socially helped if the evil nun took him to a damn doctor and did some cosmetic surgery and got him some social therapy and didn’t lock him in a cement bunker with no books or toys or other human contact.
That said, I definitely enjoyed McG’s case and I liked Max’s kid.

Love your screen shots. So much beautiful Steve, be still my heart. And even with shorter hair and grey in the stubble, that is still the face of my favorite vampire. Mainly the eyes.
Not crazy about the “monster” storyline but Max’s kid was great. It was nice to have Max back. The second story was more interesting but I saw the sister’s involvement coming. Steve and Noelani are wonderful together.
Thank you for all your work, it is appreciated.

One quick question for the US people here:

The poster behind Steve and Noelani is that a real one and not made up? Because that would be great if the show would advertise something like this.

I’ve never seen that poster, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t real. Deb is a nurse…maybe she knows? I’ll see if she wants to comment on that.
